Just do research; check out youtube videos, reviews. As said this subject is endless. Basically subscribe to multi knife use: pocket knife for EDC, 2-4 inch blade for bushcraft & food prep, 5-6 inch for survival and very small batoning, 7-9 inch for batoning & chopping. The later I’m still trying to decide. I’m blown away with a knife costing over $150 bucks! Trying to justify right now the cost of $250 for a 7.” Also learn which steel is best for the job you expect to do. 1095 seems the most mention due to it being high carbon, maintains an edge, and easy to sharpen, but will rust easily. But there are other steels as good if not better. I stay away from stainless steel due to poor performance in striking a ferro rod for sparks. Fixed knife get one that has 90 degree spine for striking ferro rod. Good luck trying to decide. LOL
I ordered this tac watch you had and you added 47.00 dollars for something else and canceled it , but it is still on my credit card. Please removed it please.
I have to have a full tang of course, handle that holds back. For the blade a 10″ to 12″ Kukri bladed knife is the end All, do all, be all!!!
Thanks,
Ryan
there are several knife styles around the world that can replace the Bowie.
a Kukri is 1 such with certainty. full tang blades beat a half blades and at tails. factory knives are mostly 440 stainless steel no matter fixed or folding. the great majority will come in 3mm thick blades. if your one of the total morons who use your knives as pry bars or screwdrivers etc you will damage a factory knife quickly. if you have some semblance of a brain and knife use savvy you can get a lot out of a factory knife. use different knives
for defense, hunting, skinning, cooking, camping type chores, clearing brush, shaving and so on…and this means you will need to carry some place between 3 to 7 knives right out of the chute.
hello Donna. i want you to reconsider. there are pocket knives, fixed blade knives, and kitchen knives you WILL want and NEED. guaranteed.
a knife has been a proven pal of ours for thousands of years. as i see it they are often your best tool if not your life saver.
defense. cooking. camping chores or around the house chores. shaving. hunting. skinning. fishing. making tools or weapons. etc
YOU NEED at bare bone minimum a 12 to 15 inch bowie.
an 8 to 12 inch gut knife/skinner.
an folding knife with a 4 inch blade/5 inch handle.
a kitchen chef knife 8 to 12 inch.
a camping axe 22 inches overall/multi use
or
a meat cleaver 12 to 14 inches overall with a thick blade.
you will take these knives to a pro and have them sharpened even if you
think they are already sharp … unless the pro decides 1 or 2 need no work

Just one knife for everything… my choice is the Marine K-bar, very versatile and if it is good enough for the Marines it is good enough for me.
Such low standards a knife for.combsy is too big for edc and most hunting.
I bought the gold president coins and yet to get an emailed receipt or any information when I would receive them and placed the order a week ago
